Met my daughter halfway and she choose this spot to eat because her sister and I are vegan! Location is SoMa affectionately known by locals because it’s located on South Main. An up and coming section of town along with an art gallery, yoga studio and herbalist next door! The service was the best, funny and professional! I hope the absolute best for this entire corner of Gainesville!

Let me tell a story so that you understand the authenticity of my effusive adoration for this humble restaurant: After visiting for the first time last November, I’ve thought of little else. No other food has managed to match the lip smacking tastes I discovered over Thanksgiving 2025. Enter Spring Break 2026 and the promise of a road trip to Gainesville is on the docket. Of course I plan to depart Miami at 5:30am on a Sunday morning so that I can make it to Frenchmen before they close on Sunday afternoon. Look, I’m not saying that I have encouraged my son to apply to UF so that his college tour included a stop for a vegan chicken burger but I’m also NOT not saying it. The 6 hour drive was worth it for the coleslaw alone and don’t even get me started on the nibble I stole from my son’s cornbread. All of the delicious food and wall of hot sauce aside, it’s the energy of this restaurant that makes me excited to push open those swinging yellow doors. As a Canadian, there’s just something about open-minded third spaces with true hearted loving vibes that instantly make me want to move next door. Sure, they make the best tofu sandwich I’ve had since becoming vegan back in the dark age

Had a lovely experience with Frenchman Street Food this morning! First time visiting a vegan restaurant because my roommate is vegetarian, and people on facebook highly recommend this place so we came to have a try. I had the cornbread combo, it comes with red beans 🫘 and rice, also a refillable lemonade! My roommate had Cajun Tofu Po’Boy and we both loved it 🥰 Wanna try a lot more things on the menu so definitely gonna come back again! And yes the owners are SUPER NICE:)

Cute little restaurant on Main Street with a nice mix of seating inside and outside. They have vegan options and can make things gluten-free, which is a plus. I was greeted right away when I walked in, and service was friendly and quick. I ordered the Cajun tofu po’ boy and a homemade lemonade. The lemonade tasted really fresh and not overly sweet or artificial. The po’ boy came on a crispy hoagie that was still soft inside, with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. The tofu was sliced and cooked well, but could’ve used a little more salt for flavor.

We’re so sad we’re only visiting and don’t live here. This is the best vegan food we’ve had in a very long time. Everything we got was so delicious and creative, he even makes “egg” yolk sauce to dip your breakfast in! Amazing! They had tons of hot sauces for my husband to choose from but thankfully not everything from the menu was hot so I was able to get some really delicious food too. If we were locals we’d be here all the time!
